Just an Update

It has been a while since I last posted with an update on the Brock family.. things are pretty much the same as last time.. Jadon is working hard and loving his new job the only part he is not loving (so he says) is being away from home and the family. He has made it to what is called a T2 which came with a substantial raise as well as a raise in bonuses.. we are very proud of him during the interview process we were told it takes about a year to move up and he has done it in 3 months.. GO JADON!!
Kadence no longer has T-ball to fill 2 days a week for him his last day was in June not that he liked it much anyway. he is growing so big and amazes me daily! he has a wonderful character about him and is a good friends to everyone.. he has spent a ton of time next door at my in laws because he gets so bored. I am truly grateful to have them next door and so welcoming to us both.. Kadence starts school August 18th and is looking forward to 1st grade.
I have committed myself to walking 2 miles a day :) Kadence and I go for a walk in the evening to the church by our house and back the whole trip equals out to be 2 miles it feels great you to get out and exercise!! I wish I could do some running but unfortunately my knees and back will not allow it. I am getting excited for school to start. truthfully this summer has been a really boring and long summer. we have not done many activities so the days get long..
I recently conquered my fear of driving long distances took kadence and myself to Pinedale, Wy to see Jadon at work we stayed 3 nights and had a good time getting to see Jadon and spend what time he was able to spend with us..
well this is my quick update i hope to update more often

AND LIFE GOES ON!!

So it has been forever since I have blogged.. So much has happened since my last blog I am not sure where to begin. Well the last blog ended in Kadence getting his tonsils taken out. On January 26, 2011 we took out brave 6 year old into the Hospital where they did in fact take out his tonsils.. His recovery was extremely fast! That same night he was up playing and wanting to eat. he was back in school with in a week and is doing great..  Kadence finished Kindergarten is very excited to get to go to 1st grade. This summer we have him playing T-Ball he has a love hate relationship with it.. he hates having to get ready to go but as soon as we get there and he starts playing he LOVES IT.. I have been recording his games for Jadon to watch. T-Ball ends the end of June so we are not sure what to do after that.

I finished my spring 2011 semester of school.. Although I only took two classes for that semester I am very happy with myself and the my grades. I got a B+ in MATH my biggest achievement ever and I got a C+ in English would have been a lot better if I had not decided not to do as assignment. Yes I am still on what is called a continuation of academic probation but I am very happy with that. I really think that being on this probation thing has helped me improve my grades and my academic outlook. Since summer is here and I have a lot of free time on my hands Kadence and I are always looking for something new to do.. wish us luck.

Jadon got a new Job working out of town. he is gone for 19 days and home for 9. he has been there for a month now.. he really likes the job, but being away from the family really takes a toll on him (and us). We are hoping to be able to buy him a new truck sometime soon.. (he totally deserves it)

We are all doing great and cannot wait to continue making more memories and having lots more adventures.

To take them or not to take them part 2

Okay so we went to the ENT today and FINALLY after months and months of swollen tonsils, red throats, and antibiotic after antibiotic failing, the Dr is going to take Kadence's tonsils out. he goes in to surgery on the 26th so between now and then we are to start preparing him for what to expect.. As parents we are terrified right along with him, but also very relieved that finally this will be over and we can begin another chapter. So wish us luck and we will update after his surgery.

To take them or not to take them

So for all of you who have heard and seen me complaining about Kadence's tonsils and how they have been swollen and red off and on since May of 2010.. Once again we are going back to the Ear Nose Throat Doctor today, and as I have said on facebook if they perscribe him another antibiotic I will go POSTAL!! I am not kidding, this poor kid has been on 3 antibiotics in 2 months. The first 2 did nothing at all, but this last one the one that cost me $80.00 to get helped at first , but soon failed as well.. once again his poor little throat is swollen and red and he is back to talking funny and snoring.. ( he almost snores as loud as Jadon) and that is not good. So the million dollar question is are they going to take them or leave them.. and they BETTER TAKE THEM or they will get to see one pissed off mommy. so wish us luck and will update when I know more.  his tounge is in the way to really see his throat but you can see it is red

UGH

I have been waiting for my financial aid to come through for school and while waiting for that to come in, I have been through quite the adventure. I have had to call and email financial aid daily only to get told the day before yesterday that they lost my paperwork and I need to resubmit it all. I resubmitted it yesterday and on the way home from doing that my breaks decided to freeze or something because I went to apply the breaks and had nothing, getting closer and closer to the truck that had stopped to turn in front of me and going 45mph I had to quickly merge to the other lane. Thank goodness there was no one in it. ( They seem to be working fine now though.) I got approved my financial aid and was supposed to have it applied today and well I only got part of my pell grant and none of my loans. this is becoming a bigger mess then I want to deal with.
on  a good note though I am really enjoying my classes and am so far doing really well and staying ahead of the homework! I have made a goal for myself that I will not get less then a B in any of my classes anymore.
so here is my update and here is to hoping next week gets better.

A new year and new us ( I hope)

Well it is the New Year and with any New Year comes new changes ( most of them needing to come from me.)  On Christmas Eve Jadon won a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle YYYAAAYYY! anyway we were very unsure what to do with it, should we sell it or keep it after only a few days Jadon decided to sell it so that is what we did. We had a buyer instantly and with that money we bought some four-wheelers in hopes to be able to spend more time as a family and do more things so comes change number 1 MORE FAMILY TIME
Toward the end on 2010 I was diagnosed with depression, insulin resistance and thyroid problems with all those issues come change number 2 TAKE BETTER CARE OF MYSELF. I am on medication to help with most of these issues and have to change my diet to help the insulin resistance. I am currently reading a book my Doctor suggested I ready called "The Insulin Resistant Diet" it is a wonderful book  and had been very helpful to me in knowing what I should and should not eat. Change # 3 is EATING BETTER. the diet if you want to call it that is called the link and balance diet, the book is showing me how to do this.. for anyone who is trying to lose weight or is struggling with the same issues I am I highly recommend this book.
Yes there is still more changes this little family will be doing in 2011. School was extremely difficult this year so to help with that comes change 4 NO MORE WORKING yes i quit my job my last day being January 10th I will be going to school and taking care of my family, with school I was only approved (by my academic advisor) to go back part time until I get all my medical issues under control so this will also help me to bring my grades up.
change number 4 is MORE TIME WITH FRIENDS yes I said it Jadon and I love each other dearly and as much as we enjoy spending time with each other and our wonderful son, Kadence we really need more friend time as well. since we have been married we have forgotten about our friends and now it is really starting to get to us (as much as Jadon does not want to admit this). Kadence also needs to start spending time with friends and socializing with kids his age more.
So here is to hoping this new year brings a lot of happiness and better times..
